Hi, I'm Victoria, and I'm your business image expert.

Before I became a coach, I worked in corporate jobs for twenty years. I held roles across a number of industries, from charities to finance, but what really stuck with me was my eight years in aviation.

​

Aviation is traditionally a very male-dominated industry, and I noticed that the women who did make it to the top all had one thing in common: when they walked into a room or onto a conference stage, they owned it. Their clothes, their way of speaking, how they stood, it all communicated authority the second they entered the space. People would literally sit up straighter and start paying attention.

​

The way those women in leadership presented themselves made me (a mid-level analyst) take a long look at how I presented myself. From my interactions with them, I learned how to dress, how to carry myself, and how to make people sit up and pay attention to me, even though I was not at their level.​​

Whilst I was on my corporate journey, I learned a lot about dress codes, specifically how vague they often are. At a few jobs, I got gentle reminders about what I was wearing, but nothing ever became an official reprimand because I could pull out the policy and say, 'Show me where it says I can't wear that.' Because 'professional' means one thing to a twenty-two year old admin and something else to a forty-something middle manager!

When I left the corporate world to start my own business, I decided to take my knowledge of fashion and the corporate world and teach what I'd learnt to others. The result is The Outfit Angel, my business dedicated to helping women own any professional space they step into and to helping companies make their dress codes clear for every employee.

​

I believe that women should be able to show up how they want to in any professional space and make an impact the moment they walk in. I believe that dress code policies should be easily understood by everyone from the CEO to the intern.​​
